Contest FAQ

Q: What sort of service does Telonium offer?

A: Telonium provides businesses with hosted phone systems. Rather than using typical landline services, Telonium uses VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology; this means all you need to use our service is a high-speed internet connection rather than a separate analog network. For more information, check out some of our blog posts such as “What the heck is VoIP?” or our whiteboard video series.

Q: Why are you giving away extensions instead of lines?

A: Analog providers usually charge per line, but VoIP providers such as Telonium charge per extension due to the fact that VoIP technology allows for unlimited lines through your internet connection. In other words, if you win the contest, you will win unlimited local and long distances, unlimited lines (in reality, as many as your internet can handle) for 2 of your team members (or extensions)..

Q: Do I have to purchase hardware in order to use the extensions?

A: No, not necessarily. While a hardware phone may give the best voice quality, we also offer both paid and free software phones in order to use our extensions (see here for a list). This means that as long as you have internet access, you have the ability to use our service completely free.

Q: Do I have anything to worry about concerning my private information?

A: Telonium values your privacy. We are only gathering your contact information to contact you in case you win and will NOT give it/sell it to third-party entities.

Q: If I already have a phone system, is there any way to incorporate Telonium’s extensions with that?

Yes, there are a few things we can do, such as call forwarding to let you use your existing number with Telonium’s extensions. Feel free to call or e-mail us and we can elaborate.

Q: I have a question that’s not on here! What do I do?

A: If you have any more questions, feel free to ask them in the comments section below or e-mail us at pr@telonium.com
