Why should I go with Telonium?

Telonium is quite different from any other phone company you’ve been with. As a young and innovative company, we are focused on providing you the best possible experience using VoIP. You’ll not only receive one of the most reliable phone services from our cloud-based phone system, but also we will listen to you when you have any suggestions to improve our services. We’re also the first hosted phone system provider to offer custom integration to our system. This means your engineering team can work with us to implement a seamless integration to your proprietary system, if needed.

Is my company ready for VoIP?

Most companies today are equipped with Internet connectivity, which is all you need to set up VoIP in your office. The question is if you have an adequate amount of bandwidth to carry out your phone calls without degradation of voice quality. You can check your Internet connection by visiting our Internet Speed Test page. This page will explain how many extensions you can service using your existing Internet connection.

How do I cancel my service?

You can cancel your service at anytime by providing us with a written notice via email to support@telonium.com. If you have any questions, you can also call us at 404-566-8888. We will be very sad though.

Are you an Internet service provider too?

No. However, if you need help finding an Internet provider, we are happy to assist with your search. We’ll even get a quote from an Internet provider so you don’t have to!

What are the benefits of VoIP?

VoIP has many benefits but some of the stand-outs are that it’s scalable, and affordable. If you are a growing company, all you need to do is give us a quick call and we will add a new extension for you in minutes. Once the new phone ships to you, all you do is plug it in and you’re ready to go. Lastly, VoIP is incredibly affordable, which is one of the reasons we reach out to small to mid sized companies. We want to spread the word that you can have the same presence as a Fortune 500 company. On average, switching from analog to Telonium saves a company around 30%.

What is VoIP?

VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol, which means your voice service is delivered over an existing internet connection. This technology allows you to have phone service anywhere in the world as long as you have a high-speed Internet connection.

How much does service with Telonium cost?

Our pricing plans start at just $25 per regular extension per month. That includes unlimited local/long distance, unlimited concurrent calls, and a fully-featured phone system.

What’s the difference between a virtual extension and regular extension?

Regular extensions give you all the functionality of a business phone system, including unlimited local and long distance, unlimited concurrent calls, and a fully-featured phone system.

Virtual extensions rely on an external phone, such as a cell phone or home phone, and are usually less expensive than regular ones. This is because virtual extensions allow you to receive unlimited inbound calls, but not make outbound calls. These are primarily useful for someone like a real estate agent or an outside sales rep since they’re often out of the office but don’t want to miss any important calls. With a virtual extension, calls that are coming in to their work number can be easily transferred to a cell phone.

Why is price based on the number of extensions?

Analog providers usually charge per line, but VoIP providers such as Telonium charge per extension due to the fact that VoIP technology allows for unlimited lines through your internet connection. In other words, no matter the number of extensions you buy, you’ll have unlimited lines (in reality, as many as your internet and phone can handle).

Phones

What phone models do you recommend?

We recommend Cisco phones. We sell three models, with prices ranging from $100 – $250. A major difference between the three is the number of line appearances. The two more expensive options have PoE capabilities and an auxiliary port as well as backlit display. The most advanced/executive phone has color display, Bluetooth, and WiFi capabilities, among other features.

What if I want a cordless phone, do you have those?

Yes. The cordless phone we recommend is the Panasonic TGP500 or TGP600 model.

How long will it take for my phones to arrive?

Shipping typically takes between 3 to 5 business days.

Do you offer equipment leasing?

We do not offer an equipment leasing program at this time.

What is a Softphone?

A Softphone is software (similar to Skype) that you install onto your computer. It uses the speaker and microphone of your laptop/desktop. Softphones can be a great solution for frequent travelers.

What should I do with my old phones?

We can connect you with a person who buys phones to refurbish them; you can also try and sell them online.

Can I use my phone or do I need to get new ones?

You need an IP or SIP phone, it must be VoIP compatible. So more than likely, yes you would change because the chances that you have an analog phone are high. If you do have an IP phone, you can use it, we will just need to program our service with it.

Let’s get Technical

Where do I plug the phones in?

The phones need to be connected to the internet, so usually a router. When you receive your phones, you are more than welcome to give us a call and someone can walk you through the steps.

Does your phone system support SMS?

We don’t yet, but it’s something we are working on and hope to be able to do in the near future.

What happens if the Internet or power goes down?

If the power/Internet is down, the caller experience will not change; it will just seem like no one is available and callers will be able to leave a voicemail with you. Know that you can customize what happens during these situations based on your preference. Telonium has recently added a Business Continuity feature for the rare event of phone system failures. The new feature automatically forwards all calls to an alternate phone number, such as your cell phone, and returns back to your regular business number once the system is restored.

Do your phones have PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) capabilities?

The Cisco SPA504G and Cisco SPA525G2 phone models are both PoE enabled devices. The Cisco SPA303 model is not.

Why use virtual fax?

You can send a fax from anywhere – home, business trip, etc. and receive from anywhere (on your cell phone). It’s paperless = environmentally friendly, no paper and ink expenses especially involving spam, because while you still receive it, you only have to print faxes you want printed.

Is the virtual fax HIPPA compliant?

All of our standards have met the compliancy but we aren’t official yet. It’s as secure if not more secure than analog fax machines.

Routers and Networking

Do you recommend any specific routers?

Most modern routers will work without any special configurations. However, any firewall or SIP ALG settings may cause network issues. We can assist you in finding the right routers and making sure the router is configured properly.
