Featured Features – Week 2

We are now in the second week of our new blog series – Featured Features. If you missed last week’s post, then make sure to go check it out! Each week I’ll be going over a couple of Telonium’s features, giving detailed explanations and expert tips. In week one I went over Auto Attendant, Custom Greetings, and Music on Hold.

Today I’ll be going over some more features that will help give your company a big presence. They are the Dial-by-Name Directory, Individual Voicemail, and Time-Based Routing.

Dial-by-Name Directory – A feature that works hand in hand with the auto attendant, the Dial-by-Name Directory works just the way it sounds. When a customer calls in and the auto attendant picks up, you have an option of allowing them to search for a specific person in the company, either by first or last name. The directory will keep track of all the extensions. It’s a great way to help callers find who they are looking for fast = happy customers for you!

TIPS: If you would like to add a more personal touch, we give you the option to record your own name instead of having an automated voice say it. This way you can be absolutely sure that your name is being pronounced correctly.

Individual Voicemail – With Telonium, each extension has its own voicemail box. We don’t want you wasting time sifting through messages meant for your co workers. We also like for you to be able to have multiple ways to receive your voicemails. So whether you prefer checking from your work phone, or are always on the go and find that receiving emails of your voicemails works best for you, there’s a solution for everyone.

TIPS: At Telonium you are able to have up to nine different voicemail greetings on an extension. With the Customer Portal it’s super simple to change which one you would like to play. Because of this you have an option to easily and frequently update your message. Keep it up to date so callers will know if you are away on vacation for a week, attending a conference for a couple days, or just out for the afternoon.

Time-Based Routing – Time-based routing is a feature that gives you control over what options or greetings are played to callers depending on the specific time of day or day of the week. This feature is often used during non-business hours and weekends. You can set up an entirely separate auto attendant, so whether you would like a special greeting played that includes the regular business hours or would like to route the calls to an after-hours call center, your customers will always stay informed.

TIPS: One of the best tips I can give for this feature is – don’t forget to use it! If a holiday is coming up, you can set it up a week before and not have to worry about it.

Well, that’s all for this week’s installment of Featured Features, come back next week for a new post! Until then, if you would like to learn more about Telonium’s features or anything else, feel free to give us a call, or you can contact me at <my first name>@telonium.com.
